Good questions

A native Mac screen recorder with a built-in editor. You record a display or a window, and Recorda adds zooms, a smooth cursor with click effects and a clean framed look. Then you trim, split, speed up and export MP4, ProRes or GIF.

A zoom only happens when something is happening. The pointer wandering, a click made while the pointer is being flung about, or a click you undo a second later makes no zoom. The ones that remain are planned together: each one has a name and one sentence saying why, and the strongest few are held longer and framed deeper.

Yes. The zooms are ordinary items on the timeline. Add, move, resize or delete them, change a zoom's depth, aim, ease curves and sound, or plan them again. Zooms you fixed by hand are locked and the new plan works around them. The Calm, Balanced and Punchy slider sets how bold the plan is.

No. It has no accounts, no cloud and no sharing links, so there is nothing to upload to. Projects are folders on your Mac. If you want to share a video, you export a file and share it however you like.

Screen Recording is how macOS lets any app capture the screen. The Microphone is used only if you record voice. Accessibility is needed only if you turn on the shortcut overlay, which records ⌘, ⌃ and ⌥ shortcuts but never plain typing. It stays off until you switch it on.

A whole display or a single window, with optional system audio, microphone and camera. Area capture is not included yet.

Recording is at the screen's own pixel size, up to 120 fps. Export goes up to 2160p at 30, 60 or 120 fps. When a zoom is in tight, the picture is enlarged with Lanczos so text stays sharp, and the deepest zoom tier is held back when the recording is too small to stay sharp.

MP4 (HEVC, or Compatible H.264), ProRes and GIF, in 16:9, 16:10, 4:3, 1:1, 9:16 or the recording's own shape. You can also ask for a file under 10, 25, 50 or 100 MB.

No. Recorda is a Mac app for macOS 14 Sonoma or later. It does not record an iPhone or iPad, and it has no web editor.

See the Compare page. Recorda is built around planning every zoom, a cursor that glides and a polished edit, and the page lines it up against what other recorders say they do on their own public pages.

It is not out yet, and the price has not been announced. This page will link to the download when it is.
