Your screen stays yours

A screen recorder sees everything you do, so Recorda is built with nowhere to send it.

Nothing to upload to

Recorda has no accounts, no cloud storage and no sharing links. A recording is a folder on your Mac: a screen movie, the cursor's path, a thumbnail and your project file. You decide where an exported video goes.

Analysed on your Mac

Zoom planning, the private-info scan, voice levelling and the clean-up all run on your Mac from your own recording. Captions use the speech recogniser built into macOS, set to on-device whenever your Mac offers that for the language. When it does not, macOS decides how recognition is done.

The look is never baked in

The cursor is hidden while recording and drawn again afterwards from its saved path. That is why you can change its style, size and glide, or the zooms, at any time without re-recording. The recording file itself is never changed.

Typing is never recorded

The shortcut overlay is off until you turn it on. It needs its own permission, and it records only shortcut combinations that use ⌘, ⌃ or ⌥. Plain typing is never captured. Windows are noted only by place and size in a whole-screen recording, never by name or title.

Everything Recorda can touch

  • The screen, a display or a window, through the macOS screen capture service you allow
  • Your microphone and camera, only when you switch them on in the recorder
  • The system sound, only if you ask for it
  • The pointer's position, clicks, scrolling and where windows sit, saved to the project so the cursor and zooms can be drawn afterwards
  • ⌘, ⌃ and ⌥ shortcuts, only if you turn the shortcut overlay on
  • Pictures, logos and sounds you add, kept inside the project
  • Its own preferences, such as your look presets and brand kits, in its support folder

Nothing else.
